Leeds United have set out their stall for the upcoming 2019/20 Championship season. The Whites have equalled their transfer record for Robbie Flower by signing Helder Costa from Wolverhampton Wonderers.
The flying Portuguese winger seemed over the moon with the move:
“It feels great to sign for Leeds United,” said Costa.
The flying winger was clearly excited with the picture that friend and ex-teammate Barry Douglas has to say:
“I’ve spoken a lot to Barry Douglas and he told me how big the club is and how amazing the fans are, so it wasn’t a tough decision to come here and I’m very happy to be here.
“It’s good to know Barry, he can show me everything about how Leeds works and I’m really looking forward to start training with my new team-mates.”
Helder Costa spoke of his decision was helped along with his relationship with ex-team mate Barry Douglas. The pair played together at Wolves in their promotion season. The pair linking up for the source of Leeds goals is a good bet.
Barry Douglas was deemed surplus to requirement at Molineux and was sold to Leeds United. Costa was kept, but found game time scarce last season in Wolves return to the Premier League.
Leeds United fans will be betting on success with Costa now at the club. The winger starred in the Championship for Wolves after signing for £13million from Benifica. His total stats are very impressive, since joining the club he’s managed 15 goals and 14 assists in 71 club appearances.
After only jut missing out on promotion last season, the odds for Leeds United to be promoted have been slashed. Betting will be spread across a few teams, but the odds are with Leeds.
